Hollywood has a new style crush! Brandon Maxwell — the man behind Lady Gaga's inimitable fashions, including her latest string of ultra-glamorous dresses — launched his first official collection this past September at New York Fashion Week, and the celebs have not been able to resist him since.
Gwyneth Paltrow slipped into his cream separates for the Variety Power of Women luncheon on Oct. 9, Kate Hudson rocked his sizzling suit at the 29th Annual American Cinematheque Award on Oct. 30, and of course, budding actress Gaga stunned in his understated black gown at the 2015 Emmys, and the list goes on and on.

Lady Gaga Is His Best Friend
"I met Gaga as an assistant stylist through the incredible Nicola Formichetti, and our relationship quickly progressed into something much more than just work," Maxwell exclusively tells Us Weekly. "We don’t just work and collaborate together, she is also my best friend."
And as her best friend, he gives credit where it's due. "I don't feel any ownership over any of her looks. She's a true visionary and completely in control of her own destiny," he shares. "I am just happy to be along for the ride."
He's a Texas Boy, Through and Through
And it helped shape his philosophy: the bigger, the bolder, the better. "I grew up in Longview, Texas. I’m extremely proud of being a Texan and the town that I come from!" he tells Us. "I think the women there are beautiful and bold, and that formed every part of who I am today."
He Believes That Even Couture Should Be Affordable
Maxwell makes sure that if he's selling it, it's of the highest quality. "I am very sensitive about our pricing. Coming from small-town Texas, a dress that retails for $2,000 better make you look amazing and work for every event," he insists.
And last forever, too. He adds, "I set out to make clothes for women to love and pass down to their daughters."
He Loves All His Brandon Maxwell Ladies Equally
Gaga, Paltrow, Hudson, Reese Witherspoon, Zendaya, Uma Thurman, Kristen Wiig, Iman, and more ladies have stepped out — and stunned — in Maxwell's clothing, and he could not be more thrilled to see each and every one in his designs.
"I don’t think one red carpet moment trumped another, as they are each unique and beautiful in their own right," Maxwell says. "It has been an utter pleasure seeing such elegant and intelligent women bringing life to my designs."
And His Dream Celeb to Dress Is…
Truthfully, he says, "I don’t have one specific woman in mind!" But he's ready to see more women rocking his styles. "What has been such a blessing about this journey is that I have met so many different types of women and have come to love them [all] through the collaboration process," he shares. "I am just excited to have the opportunity to meet such extraordinary women."
