When it comes to Prince William‘s fashion we know he’s taken a few tips from his stylish wife Princess Kate in the past, so when he stepped out last night in his favorite fancy velvet loafers, you better bet we took notice. And we have a good hunch who’s responsible for the fashion footwear repeat.

He attended the Tusk Trust conservation ball in London on Tuesday night wearing a standard black suit, made all the more stylish with his polished velvet loafers (educated guessers are calling them Burberry). He’s been spotted in them before, most noteably at David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum Alive 3D screening in 2013 and the BAFTAs in 2014.

Even though Princess Kate sat out last night’s event, we can’t help but think she had some say in his snazzy shoes. It’s known that he invested in a full-on closet revamp when they got married in 2012, outfitting his wardrobe with suits from Savile Row tailors and even took suede $160 loafers from Fin for a spin back then.
And judging from Kate’s penchant for a great re-wear (just which she’s done as recently as last week) William followed her lead and reached far back into his closet for last night’s look.

We’re so intrigued by the red carpet repeats, we hope he keeps them coming on the upcoming tour of India in the spring. But in the meantime, tell us!
