There's no doubt about it: Taylor Swift knows how to make a freakin' fashion statement. While stopping by Late Night With Seth Meyers on Thursday evening to chat about the release of her Red (Taylor's Version) album, the singer seemingly channeled Princess Diana in a look that instantly drew comparisons to the late royal's iconic "revenge dress" moment - with her own 2021-approved updates, of course.
Styled by Joseph Cassell Falconer, Taylor wore a black off-the-shoulder minidress by David Koma, featuring a V-shape neckline, long sleeves, and embroidered crystal petal detailing at the waist. Although Diana paired her memorable LBD with a pearl choker, black tights, and simple pumps, Taylor opted for crystal-embellished slingback pumps by Aquazzura, diamond hoop earrings by Mindi Mond, and a collection of rings by various jewelers, including Alison Lou, Anita Ko, and Cathy Waterman. Oh, and she also applied her signature red lipstick, natch.
Knowing Taylor and her penchant for slipping Easter eggs in just about every music video, many fans have speculated that her "revenge dress" nod is a subtle hint that she's planning to rerecord Speak Now next, seeing as the album features her "Better Than Revenge" song. Others see it as a representation of the payback she's getting by claiming ownership of her music (take that, Scooter Braun!). Either way, she looks damn incredible, and we need all damn weekend to fully absorb the fashion moment. Read ahead to take an up-close look at what we like to call the "Revenge Dress (Taylor's Version)."
