Prabal Gurung only had about two days to make the dress Lady Gaga wore on the red carpet at MTV's Video Music Awards - but it turns out that challenge was a little easier than you might think. The dress we saw Sunday night was a bit of a riff on something he's working on for Spring 2014.
Gurung's show during New York Fashion Week will be here sooner than we know it, but he told Style.com he was happy to make the dress because he's a "huge, huge, huge fan" of Gaga. The black technical satin gown fits right in with Gurung's storied history of dressing women for red carpet events (Kate Hudson at the amfAR Inspiration Gala, Jennifer Lawrence for the premiere of The Hunger Games, what have you), but we're interested to see if he'll continue last season's experiments with separates and daywear. We should find out when the rest of Gurung's Spring 2014 collection comes down the runway on Saturday, Sept. 7.
