If you’ve ever felt the urge to go blonde — and we mean really blonde — take a cue from two of Hollywood’s leading ladies, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicole Richie, who are bringing platinum back for fall.

Lawrence, who recently ditched her super-long extensions, lightened up her blonde-highlighted strands with a much bolder (and brighter!) shade: a platinum blonde “lob”. She debuted the fresh cut and color at The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2 Hand and Footprint Ceremony in Hollywood last weekend.

Richie, who recently return to blonde after experimenting with pink, purple and blue, upgraded her shade for a fresh platinum update.
“She is a fashion icon, and it seems she was ready for a change,” celebrity colorist Lorri Goddard previously told PEOPLE, adding that the inspiration behind Richie’s new look was, “Edie Sedgwick goes to the beach.”
Richie usually opts for wash-out dyes, and clearly isn’t afraid of making major mane changes.

And because the crisp color pairs perfectly with the Lawrence’s fair skin tone and complements Richie’s L.A. tan, we’re predicting the platinum hue might just be the next “It” hair color for fall.
Both stars prove how versatile and easy the bright blonde hue is to wear, giving us another reason to try out the otherwise intimidating color. (It does, however, require a lot of maintenance and quality time with your colorist.)
