There are many universal "firsts" when it comes to growing up: your first word, your first day of school, your first kiss. If you're a British royal, you can add one more to the list: first Buckingham Palace garden party.
Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie both made their first garden party appearances today at Buckingham Palace, joining their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, as well as Prince Philip, Princess Anne and Prince Andrew. They knew how to dress for the occasion. Gone were the LBDs, and in their place were white dresses, sharp jackets, elegant heels and fanciful hats perched on the sides of their heads.
Even in their heels, however, Bea and 'Genie couldn't stack up to their towering fellow guests: members of the Team GB Olympic Basketball Team.
Wish we were there, ladies! Check out the photos of the royals' first Buckingham Palace garden shindig.
