Fashion Week is technically about the clothes on the runway, but our eyes always seem to veer off to the front row where the top editors, celebs... and royals sit.
So we were in luck when we spotted Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy and his wife, French actress Clotilde Courau, planted front and center at the Giorgio Armani Privé show yesterday. While he neither reigns nor is recognized by Italy, Emanuele is the grandson of Umberto II, the last king of Italy. He's also known as the Prince of Venice and Piedmont in monarchist circles.
As for Clotilde, she's a César-nominated star who holds the title Princess of Venice and Piedmont. She's also a regular at fashion week, turning up to shows for Christian Dior, Elie Saab, Giambattista Valli and Valentino in addition to Armani. And she clearly has great style herself.
[Ed note: If you're wondering how she and the prince crossed paths initially, we recommend that you watch this adorable video of the two explaining how they met during a fencing match against each other.]
See the couple taking in the Armani show below and tell us if you think they're ones to watch.
