Oscar Gown Predictions, Straight From Naeem Khan Himself

Naeem Khan’s breathtaking designs are beloved by stars as diverse as Katy Perry, Michelle Obama and Lea Michele — and after seeing the stunning, sparkling gowns the designer sent down the runway last week, we have a feeling he’ll be adding another celeb fan to his lineup Sunday night.

“I designed my Autumn/Winter 2013 collection with the Academy Awards in mind,” Khan tells PEOPLE of his most recent collection, which was full of elegant dresses featuring his signature intricate beadwork and feminine details. “Every gown is really an ‘Oscar gown.’”

Nonetheless, he accepted our difficult challenge to narrow it down to three pieces he’d love to see walk the Oscars red carpet. He declined to name names, but we definitely have a wish list of A-listers we’d love to see step out in these options this weekend.

First up, he picked a striking long-sleeved fully embellished gown with a dramatic bare back. To us, this has presenter Kristen Stewart written all over it, thanks to her penchant for long sleeves and skin-baring designs.

Next, a high-necked sheer black number with sparkling details that seems perfect for Amanda Seyfried — the dramatic silhouette would give her doe-eyed look a little edge, but it’s plenty romantic for the Les Misérables cast member.

Finally, Khan chose a gorgeous champagne-colored Deco-inspired gown that we think would look stunning on Anne Hathaway, who has been wearing styles that play up her gamine hair and porcelain skin. This dress would particularly shine on television if she accepts a best supporting actress statue as expected!

Says Khan of his top picks, “I hope we see one of these designs on the red carpet on Sunday.” We’ll second that!

Tell us: Which of these three gowns would you love to see at the Oscars? Who do you want to see wear them?
