Jacquemus is in no way slowing down. The brand du jour, which has existed for just over a decade, announced a new partnership with Nike resulting in a collection of apparel, footwear, and accessories coming this summer. The French fashion brand's namesake designer, Simon Porte Jacquemus, envisions the line consisting of contemporary sportswear for a variety of activities, from court sports to everyday errands. "Comfortable anywhere, anytime," the press release states.
"Comfortable anywhere, anytime."
"For this collaboration with Nike, I wanted to create a collection that reinterprets athletic women's sportswear in a minimal way," Jacquemus said. The designer said he's sourcing inspiration from '90s Nike campaigns and vintage ACG designs meant for hiking and enduring various elements. Jacquemus will also present its own take on the Humara shoe. He added, "It was important for the collection to be accessible, for all bodies, and to be a natural blend of Jacquemus style and Nike performance."
Jacquemus is known for providing vacation apparel in breathable fabrics and pops of color. The brand also often plays with proportion. Take, for example, its massive straw beach hat that looked like a walking sculpture, or the micro purse that barely fit a breath mint.
The collection will launch on June 28 on the Jacquemus site, followed by a larger release across Nike retail platforms. See the initial teaser campaign ahead.
