In the last two and a half years, I've made a few investments when it comes to being comfortable at home. I went from leaving the house at seven in the morning and not returning until after dinner to working remotely, creating a home workout routine, and having people over more than I go out. One of my most favorite investments has been in a quality pair of cozy, at-home shoes, and nothing comes close to the Birkenstock Arizona Genuine Shearling Lined Slide Sandal ($160). They are the comfortable, casual, everyday shoes that I literally do not take off; I was halfway to the coffee shop this morning when I realized I hadn't even put on my sneakers as planned, and was on my way in my Birkenstocks. I am also someone who is, admittedly, not a typical Birkenstocks person; these are my first pair, and while I didn't get the hype before, I can say now that these will be my go-to slippers forever.
What I Like About This Birkenstock Arizona Genuine Shearling Lined Slide Sandal
There is a lot to like about these sandals. I love that they mold to my feet, and that I can just slip them on, which I do every single morning when I get out of bed. I love the way they look; I have the mink suede color, and I think they're neutral and cool. They feel like a slipper but look like a real shoe, and that's ideal in my book. As someone who always has cold feet, I like that these don't ever make me feel chilly, even though my toes and heels are exposed. I also love that there's real traction at the sole, which helps to provide an added grip support whether you're walking around outside or indoors. For me, these are house shoes; I try not to wear outside shoes inside my home, and I needed something that I could feel good about wearing while I'm cozy inside. Although, as I previously mentioned, they're so comfortable that I sometimes forget I'm wearing them, and did in fact make it halfway to the coffee shop this morning before realizing I still had them on. Hey, rules are made to be broken.

What's Worth Noting
I don't know if it's because I wear these shoes literally all the time, but the shearling does seem to get matted a bit more quickly than other shearling shoes I've worn in the past. I had my first pair for just under two years, and have only recently gotten a new pair. I'd love for them to stay fluffier longer, but I wear them every single day, oftentimes without socks, so it comes with the territory. Also, as with other Birkenstocks, they take a couple of days to mold to your feet, and feel a bit awkward at first. Trust the process, though, and within days, they'll be the most comfortable shoes you own.
The sizing is also a bit tricky. The brand gives both EU and US sizing, but they don't correlate. For example, typically an EU 38 is a US 8, but for Birkenstocks an EU 38 is a US 7. In this case, I would go by your typical EU sizing, or size down in your typical US sizing. I typically wear an EU size 40, and that's the size I took.

If you love a good slip-on sandal that you can wear in and out of the house, these Birkenstocks are the shoes you'll want to be in all the time. They're supremely comfortable, mold to your feet beautifully, and have traction. The quality is fantastic, and the shoe has proven to be a worthwhile investment - even with the style's slightly higher price point.
