Michelle Obama's midlife crisis may have been a bit tamer than most, but it still managed to stir up some major Internet buzz. The First Lady, who debuted a new hairstyle last month on her 49th birthday, reveals that her decision to chop her locks was her way of getting a little wild.
"This is my mid-life crisis, the bangs," she joked to Rachael Ray in a Skype interview set to air on Wednesday, Feb. 20. "I couldn't get a sports car, they won't let me bungee jump -- so instead, I cut my bangs."

The trend-setting mother of two debuted her face-framing bangs on her Twitter account, where she says she enjoys having conversations with other Twitter users.
"You know, I get sort of regular feedback. I get people who tease, who ask questions, good questions," she said of keeping up with her web presence. It's always good to connect and it's a good way to send important and encouraging messages. The bangs entered through my Twitter account!"

Even President Barack Obama couldn't resist giving a nod to her hairdo during a speech prior to his inauguration on Sunday, Jan. 20.
"To address the most significant event of this weekend," he began, "I love her bangs. She looks good. She always looks good."
