Among elegant dresses, glitter, flowers, and delicate accessories, Venezuelan designers Carolina Herrera and Angel Sanchez, and Dominican Oscar de la Renta presented their new collections for brides for next year as part of the New York International Bridal Week 2014.
Veteran designer De La Renta’s new line remained classic, with a touch of romanticism with the incorporation of gloves, and hair decorative ornaments. The use of pink and blue tones to his pieces also provided a fresh sense to the collection.
Meanwhile, Herrera established a simple and delicate tone, as is expected of her pieces, with the addition of metallic colors like gold and silver to her fabrics. Sanchez also presented his sophisticated and modern designs, with asymmetrical skirts, ruffles and dimensions.
"Architecture is my resource to achieve proportion, to get a line, but for me, the materials, the detail of the ornament, serve to make women look beautiful," Sanchez told the Associated Press. "I see it as a collection that has backs, things that remind of something sexy. [But] I tried to keep the sexy from becoming obvious."
