Pierre Hardy for Nars nail polish ($29 for each set): A weekend in Orlando called for a bright, sunny manicure that any septuagenarian retiree would be proud to wear herself. Luckily, just before I left for the land of sunshine and humidity, the new Nars/Pierre Hardy collaboration had just landed on my desk. Sharplines Peach, a zingy peachy-coral, seemed the most Florida-appropriate and its opaque, sherbet color did not disappoint.
Vbeauté Lip Spread in Vixen ($28): Inspired by Megan Draper's vacation look from the premiere of Mad Men, I packed all five of Julie Macklowe's tinted lip balms in muted nudes and pinks. For me, those shades were too sheer for my darkish, berry-hued lips. But Vixen — a popsicle red — delivered just the right amount of pigment. While the finish is subtle and shiny, it won't make lips sticky.
Elizabeth Arden Bold Eye Pencil in Platinum Glow ($20): This limited-edition, iridescent tawny eye pencil will give tired, pre-vacation eyes a more awake (and slighty sixties) appearance when drawn along the waterline. It's a great substitute for those who are afraid to take that white-liner approach for brighter eyes that appear well-rested.
