Kim Kardashian Just Posed in a Pleather Thongkini and Thigh-High Boots

Leave it to Kim Kardashian to design faux leather swimsuits. The reality star just launched a swimwear edit for her highly-coveted shapewear brand SKIMS, just in time for your next vacation. While the general consensus for beach-related wear is to grab your best lightweight pieces and breathable fabrics, for Kardashian, trips to the pool call for the total opposite. The all-black, figure-flattering line takes an unconventional approach to summer, showcasing a myriad of faux leather and rubberized scuba styles, ranging from the popular thongkini to a less-revealing swim skirt.

In tandem with the new Rubberized Scuba Swim and Faux Leather Swim collections, Kardashian challenged the status quo with editorial visuals shot by her longtime photographer, Steven Klein. In one shot, the mom-of-four held a black hoop while wearing a matte black bikini paired with black thigh-high socks and heels, surrounded by two models holding her waist on both sides. In another, she's seen in a somewhat chaotic shot, laying on one model in a similar look, this time with black thigh-high leather boots, while others are in the backdrop hanging from chain-linked hoops in all-black outfits from the line.

Kardashian and Klein have worked on various projects, including her 2017 Jackie Kennedy-inspired "Interview Magazine" feature, so it's no surprise the two forces produced such boundary-pushing visuals. "Steven and I have collaborated on so many iconic images over the years and I'm grateful that we once again have partnered on SKIMS for the new swim campaign," Kardashian said in a statement. Klein was equally effusive in his statement. "As a photographer, I am inspired in collaborating with icons...Icons exert a magnetic pull that allows the viewer to superimpose a dream reality, a kind of hyper existence. Icons are symbols, the alphabet of desire. Kim speaks this language," he said of the collaboration.

Whether you're stocking up on fresh pieces or preparing for a tropical getaway, shop Kardashian's new line of swimwear exclusively on the brand's website, and peruse the sultry campaign ahead.
