The U.K.'s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) — responsible for banning a selection of American Apparel ads, an image from Hailee Steinfeld's Miu Miu campaign, and a picture of Dakota Fanning with a Marc Jacobs perfume bottle between her legs — has put the semi-kibosh on Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle commercial starring Keira Knightley. In it, the actress wakes up wearing nothing but a bedsheet, rushes to a shoot where she and the photographer have undeniable chemistry, eventually unzips her jumpsuit, then flees without leaving a note.
According to the Telegraph, a concerned citizen filed a complaint after the promo aired during a showing of Ice Age 2. As a result, the ASA ruled: "The ad must not be broadcast again in its current form in or around programmes of particular appeal to children." It's all a bit odd, because one would assume the audiences of Ice Age 2 (main characters include Manny the woolly mammoth, Sid the sloth, Diego the saber-toothed tiger) and a three-minute-long clip about French perfume wouldn't overlap anyway.
