Karrueche Tran is bringing the heat in Miami. On Jan. 2, she was spotted going to dinner at Carbone wearing a knitted, see-through dress from sustainable fashion brand Ella Mia.
The maxi dress featured a halter neckline accented by wooden beads, which brought a beachy twist to the look. Although the dress was entirely sheer, it was made of different colored panels throughout the gauze-like fabric. Beneath it, Tran opted for brown briefs and a brown bandeau that peeked through. She paired the trendy dress with a black clutch and strappy, satin black René Caovilla heels.
We've seen many celebrities put their own twist on the sheer-dress trend recently. Hailee Steinfeld celebrated her birthday in a sheer cutout minidress, Kylie Jenner wore a floral-embroidered slip dress layered over lingerie while out for dinner, and Hailey Bieber rocked a simple take on the trend in a sheer chocolate-brown dress on Instagram.
The handmade and sustainable threads of this dress took this well-worn trend up a notch. As a host of "Upcycle Nation," a competition series centered around sustainable clothing design, Tran is an advocate for clothes that are mindful of the environment. "There are so many different ways we can upcycle and reuse old clothing and household items into cool and innovative pieces," Tran previously told POPSUGAR. Professional life aside, her latest look tells us that she not only talks the talk but also walks the walk when it comes to sustainable fashion.
