Wondering why Kanye West spent so much time in Paris this spring? The secret’s out: He is officially collaborating with French denim line A.P.C., the brand announced on Instagram.
Details about the collaboration are still scarce (all we know is that it will launch on Bastille Day, July 14, and West’s website is now a giant photo of the new label) but a W Magazine profile of the rapper noted that it would include “jeans, T-shirts, and hoodies that combine West’s fashion-forward silhouettes with the cool minimalism for which the French brand is known.”
West’s previous forays into fashion have been high-concept (and received mixed reviews) so we’re looking forward to seeing what casual wear brings.

And for inspiration, we looked back at three of his most memorable denim looks from recent years, from the letterman sweaters, sneakers and shades of his preppy post-Graduation period, to his notorious leather tee and embellished jeans which he wore to hijack Taylor Swift’s VMA, to a recent appearance in light-wash jeans with a matching button-up tied around his waist.
An average pair of A.P.C. jeans can sell for around $200, and since West doesn’t do anything small, we imagine we’ll be looking at some seriously spendy denim and hoodies. Tell us: Are you excited to shop the collection?
