Julia Roberts paid not-so-subtle tribute to longtime friend George Clooney at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington DC on Dec. 4. She arrived to the gala wearing a black gown entirely covered in photos of her "Ticket to Paradise" costar, whose humanitarian efforts were celebrated during the ceremony.
The tongue-in-cheek dress was custom-made by Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott and adorned with pictures of Clooney throughout his decades-long career, including old professional headshots, magazine spreads, red carpet moments, and even several screen grabs from his "ER" days. Each snapshot was surrounded by a decorative gold frame as a nod to Moschino's signature design aesthetic. The piece featured a scooped neckline and full skirt that skimmed the floor.
With input from stylist Elizabeth Stewart, Roberts paired her statement-making dress with a black cropped tuxedo jacket, also designed by Scott. She finished the look with metallic platform sandals, Chopard hoop earrings, and a gold chrome manicure.
Roberts was one of many stylish attendees at the Kennedy Center Honors. Amal Clooney dazzled in two different Valentino dresses throughout the evening: first, a red gown with a built-in train for the predinner and later, an off-the-shoulder number covered in silver sequins for the actual gala. Kamala Harris showed off her edgy side in a black peplum Vera Wang gown styled with elbow-length leather gloves, a crystal belt, and pointed-toe pumps, and Jill Biden sparkled in a sequin floral Monique Lhuillier dress.
