Julia Fox made a dramatic entrance at the New York City Ballet's 10th annual fall fashion gala, which took place at Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theater on Wednesday, Sept. 28. The 32-year-old model and muse broke away from her typically dark palette to shine in a Zac Posen foil gown, which featured ballooning sleeves, a multilayered corseted bodice, and a lightweight train that swept the red carpet.
Fox, who works with stylist Briana Andalore on her outfits, finished the ensemble with pointed-toe heels, matching spandex gloves, and a textured, metallic leather "gift" bag. Her eyes were swept with shimmering silver shadow and dusted with highlighter at the corners, and she opted for a glossy peach lip. Her eyebrows were bleached, and her hair was left down, sleek and straight. Fox's presence was not only notable from a fashion perspective because of her avant-garde look but because designer Posen closed his namesake label in 2019 and has worked on only occasional custom projects ever since.
Fox's appearance made way for many other stars, including Solange Knowles, who wrote a score for the performance and arrived in sophisticated suiting and Lorraine Schwartz jewels to make her impressive ballet debut. Other notable attendees included Billy Porter in Giles Deacon, Laverne Cox in Iris Van Herpen, and Claire Danes in Oscar de la Renta.
The 10th-anniversary ballet raised $3.4 million and honored Board Vice Chair Sarah Jessica Parker for her leadership surrounding the event. Swarovski decorated the onstage costumes - designed by Alejandro Gómez Palomo - with more than 900,000 crystals.
