Remember when Juicy Couture was super popular and all you wanted for your birthday was a terrycloth tracksuit with a "J" zipper-pull? (Don't lie, we know you did.)
Well, it seems things have changed since those halcyon days of $95 sweatpants -- including Juicy Couture's signature "made in the glamorous USA" status. She and Reverie, a loungewear apparel company, made an interesting discovery on a Juicy shirt and tweeting their findings on Thursday:

As Jezebel notes, the shirt is silk-screened with the slogan "Manufactured in the Glamorous USA" while the tag reads "Made In Vietnam." It's an interesting choice of words: As you might recall, Juicy Couture's slogan used to read "Made in the Glamorous USA." Somewhere along the line, the brand must have decided to draw a distinction between the terms "made" and "manufactured."
According to the Federal Trade Commission, products can only bear a "made in the USA" label if 75 percent or more of their components are of U.S. origin and if they're "substantially transformed" in the U.S.A. But we're not sure how a product qualifies for the label "manufactured in the USA"... especially when it's made in Vietnam.
We've reached out to Juicy Couture for comment. In the meantime, have a chuckle at the photo below.
