Jordyn Woods pulled an unexpected magic trick on the red carpet of the "Avatar: The Way of Water" premiere in Hollywood on Dec. 12. Inspired by the people of Pandora, the model strutted into the premiere in a shimmering blue cutout dress from Dion Lee's fall/winter 2022 collection. While stunning at first glance, the mock-neck midi dress caught Woods's fans by surprise when she revealed on her Instagram Stories that the ensemble's light-reflective material glows in the dark.
At first glance, the gown appears ocean blue - a fitting shade for a movie set underwater - but the slightest change in lighting reveals that each fiber is tinged with silver, creating a mesmerizing illusion similar to the iconic dress meme from 2015. When Woods stepped off the red carpet and into the dark interior of the premiere party, her dress instantly transformed, resulting in an otherworldly, glow-in-the-dark effect.
Woods's luminescent dress, styled by Karina Salerno, featured a ribbed, pinstripe design with elaborate wrist cutouts that evoked the pattern of a snowflake. Below the bust, the cutout motif continued, wrapping around her sides and down her back. Between the cutouts were glimpses of Woods's tiny tattoos, including the initial "J" on her left side, her "LA" foot tattoo, and her ankle tattoo.
She paired the silvery-blue outfit with strappy blue Ottolinger flower heels, Solch's long ruffle earrings and Nefertiti ring, and a set of icy-blond waves.
At the event, Woods made sure to snap a few photos alongside her younger sister, Jodie Woods, who attended the premiere in a blue and white Chet Lo dress made of a 3D spiked fabric, reminiscent of a durian fruit. The dress featured a thigh-high slit and a dramatic asymmetrical waist cutout. Jodie paired the look with stud earrings and strappy heeled sandals by GCDS.
