In the six years since Jennifer Hudson won her Academy Award, her style has become as polished as the Oscar itself.
Hudson has done a complete style 180 since nabbing a Best Supporting Actress trophy for her role in Dreamgirls. For her big moment she selected a simple (and sort of frumpy) brown taffeta gown, topped off with a polarizing metallic python bolero jacket.
Fast-forward to tonight: Hudson hit the carpet in full-on diva mode, working a sparkly blue Roberto Cavalli creation with a high-slit, coordinating Jimmy Choo peep-toe pumps and blunt bangs.
And even a now-seasoned red carpet pro like Hudson admits that looking this good doesn’t come easy. “It took three days of fittings, three hours each day to make my decision,” Hudson told Ryan Seacrest on the E! pre-show. “It’s a serious decision. My stylist cried tears of joy [when I finally decided].”
Tell us: What do you think of Hudson’s transformation?
