After showing his spectacular Fall 2013 collection during New York Fashion Week, Jason Wu brought his glamorous (and First Lady-approved) designs to San Francisco for an SF Opera and Neiman Marcus-sponsored event titled The Art of Fashion: Jason Wu. City Hall's North Light Court served as the elegant, dramatic backdrop, and the evening marked Wu's first-ever time showing a collection in the Bay Area - and we can safely say it was a huge success. The collection was a feast for the eyes. The floor-length gowns, skinny tailored trousers, and opulent silhouettes trimmed in feathers and fur garnered gasps, excitement, and applause from the audience, while the booming Amy Winehouse soundtrack kept the crowd feeling upbeat.
In addition to being a beautiful showcase, the event also served to support a great cause; proceeds from the evening benefited San Francisco Opera Guild’s music instruction programs, which help bring arts education to more than 50,000 students in over 200 schools throughout Northern California.
