If you follow Issa Rae on Instagram, you would have seen flashes of her recent, eventful trip to Miami. Though she may now be back in her native Los Angeles, the actor-turned-mogul is still dressing for South Florida, in the best way possible. Rae attended the premiere of "Rap Sh!t", a series she created and executive produced, at LA's Hammer Museum on July 13 in an outfit that can best be described as peak summer fashion.
The look's focal point was a metallic green minidress, tailored by Matthew Reisman, featuring a plunging halter neckline and ruching down the middle. Stylists Jason Rembert and Shameelah Hicks paired the dress with neutral sandals, several rings, including her own cushion-cut engagement ring, and gold hoop earrings lined with diamonds.
Though this one lands among her standout style moments, Rae often gravitates toward vibrant colors and impactful silhouettes. For example, she attended last year's Emmy Awards wearing a sheer, mesh Aliétte tank dress. For the award show the year prior, she chose a bright orange Sergio Hudson dress with power shoulders. Her two custom-made Vera Wang wedding dresses, however, were as classic as can be, with her ceremony dress featuring a sweetheart neckline, Chantilly lace bodice adorned with crystals, and full skirt.
