Iris Apfel is one of the most stylish, unique, energetic people you'll ever meet in your life. Though many stories immediately marvel at her age (92 years old), what inspires us most about Apfel is her commitment to being exactly her own person, at all times. I had the pleasure of interviewing Apfel last year at the Stark showroom, and through our chat, I realized that confidence and comfort in one's skin has to be the key to happiness. While many of us go around in a fog of "What will people think?"-type thoughts regarding everything from clothes to decor choices, Apfel surrounds herself with what makes her happy. That's it.
Her New York City apartment is the ultimate proof of this point of view. The space is gorgeously appointed with finds from her many travels, filled with color and, above all, evidence of a life that is very well-lived.
