Once upon a time Toronto Raptors' prince Landry Fields proposed to supermodel princess Elaine Alden with this superstar bling-a-ling engagement ring.
Oh wait, that just happened yesterday! From the picture Alden posted on Instagram last night, it seems the center diamond is approximately 3.5-4 carats, G/H color and a Cushion Cut. Because Alden is a world famous model and her future husband is an NBA star, it's safe to assume that the clarity grade on this rock is pretty high. I'm sure Fields didn't take any chances on finding a 100 percent eye-clean stone. I would estimate this ring's price at $100-$110,000 at full retail value. As if Alden's ring wasn't already blinding enough, it is set in a halo and double pave setting. That means there are smaller diamonds surrounding the center stone and set into the double band. These extra mini diamonds make the center stone appear even larger by contrast, and they make the whole ring sparkle with even more brilliance and uninterrupted fire all the way around the twin bands.
But this is not even a standard halo. Regular halos usually contain diamonds of 0.01 carat weight. These diamonds look like they are at least 0.05 carats each all the way around.
In other words, this ring is seriously on fire and would even knock the socks off jewelry queen legend Elizabeth Taylor. We wish Elaine and Landry a happy marriage together -- at least as sparkly and beautiful as their engagement ring!
