Feminist, actress, UN Women Goodwill Ambassador . . . Emma Watson's résumé is majorly impressive, especially for someone who is just 25. So it's no surprise that Watson was chosen to grace the cover of Porter's Incredible Women issue. The magazine teamed up with Elizabeth Arden for its first ever 100 Incredible Women list to celebrate women from around the world making a difference. Winter cover star Emma had the chance to pose for the glossy, donning a mix of simple yet sophisticated pieces that align perfectly with her signature feminine look.
The star also opened up to Porter about her style, sharing her inspiring outlook on what she chooses to wear.
"When I was younger I remember being told 'no pain no gain', but recently my willingness to wear something that makes me freezing cold or that I can't walk in has changed. I want to feel fabulous and comfortable and sexy and strong and beautiful. And if it's making you uncomfortable, don't do it. It's so sad if you need to go home just because you need to sit down! Moving forward, I'm prioritizing just feeling awesome." Emma's personal take is refreshing and honest, as many women have similarly eschewed more restrictive looks for more comfortable options.
Emma also discussed fashion's ties to feminism, an issue close to her heart as an outspoken supporter of HeForShe.
"I think using fashion as a means of expression is brilliant. One of the ways I became a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador was through my interest in fair-trade fashion. Because so many women design and make the clothes we wear, it's primarily the working conditions of women that are affected by the decisions we make, so fashion is a feminist issue."
