Nothing twists up our nostrils quicker than an overpowering cologne or perfume. Even worse? Getting trapped in a room or elevator with the wearer.
While promoting her latest fragrance, Closer, Halle Berry visited "Conan" and gave us all a refresher on the right way to wear perfume. Of course, O'Brien gave the smokin' hot actress permission to touch him anywhere she wanted. And her comedic timing couldn't be better as she responded, "Okay, take your pants off."
Once things cooled down on the couch, Berry enlightened the TV host: "The way you’re supposed to wear fragrance, you’re supposed to spray it in between your thighs," she explained. "And then it heats up and then the aroma rises up all day long."
While her response was nothing short of sexy, it's true. In all of our years of testing new fragrances, we've learned that between the thighs, inside of the elbows, at the nape of the neck, behind the ears, above the hipbones and along the cleavage are among the "hot spots" to spray.
Why? Our body's natural heat radiates fragrance best when it's applied to areas where veins are closest to the skin. And most importantly, as Berry points out, "when you hug somebody you don't leave your sent on them."
