A new trend has women showing off their glittery underarms on social media, and the results are far from the pits.
Posting with the #GlitterPits hashtag, women are embracing their armpits by sharing images of the sparkling body parts online.
Women have been posting images of their sparkly underarms online for the past couple of years, but it was only recently that a proliferation of women joined the #GlitterPits movement.
For some, the imagery and associated hashtag are meant to be a celebration of armpit equality, as Bustle reports. It's well known that women are subject to different expectations about armpit grooming than their male counterparts.
Cosmo UK calls it a feminist campaign, noting that "freeing the pits" is about women defying social norms in the name of equality.
If you're thinking about partaking in this trend, you won't need much. All it takes is an armpit, some glitter and the guts to post yourself sharing it on social media.
#GlitterPits are just the latest in a string of sparkly trends, including the #glitterbeard and #glitterroots.
