If some is good and more is better, Giorgio Armani was at his best for Spring 2014's two-for-one runway show. The models often came in sets (sometimes in threes) in complementary designs that emphasized the effect of the designer's bold color palette and play on "lights and shadows."
On its own, a fuchsia blazer is dynamic. Coming down the runway with a periwinkle partner (and mix-and-match heels), it had all the more impact. The same could be said of a floaty cobalt and black babydoll duo, painterly cocktail numbers, floral lace suiting, and the prettiest of pastel wrap dresses. Not to be outdone by the pairs, standout numbers had as much impact on their own. After all, it doesn't take more than one look at a billowy, shimmering cocktail dress to make an impact - some things are one of a kind.
