When we imagine the typical Alexander Wang girl, she's just naturally cool. (We're still working on that ourselves).
Her wardrobe is a mix of monochromatic basics, her hair is simply understated and her nails well, let's just say that they're barely noticeable. But for his fall 2013 show, the designer jumped on the textured nail art trend bandwagon.
Nail industry legend and CND co-founder Jan Arnold translated Wang's urban vibe into a faded nude manicure that resembled sandstone. Her team of manicurists mimicked the sedimentary rock's gritty texture by painting on CND Impossibly Plush with a fan brush -- feathering the caramel beige color from the sides toward the center.
Speedey Top Coat was then added, and the shine buffed using a nail buffer for a naturally eroded finish. (Turns out the basic tool can do more than just smooth down a chipped nail)
