Ladies of the weather frock together!
In a new phenomenon, dozens of female meteorologists are donning the same ensemble in front of the green screen to meet the strict standards of their stations' dress codes.
The dress itself, a jewel-toned, sleeved bodycon number comes in many colors, combined with black paneling and is available for only $23 on Amazon. The Homeyee "Women's Stretch Tunic Pencil Sheath" was posted to a private meteorologist group on Facebook, and many women bought it based on the social media recommendation.
Dallas Fox 4 weather lady, Jennifer Myers, shared an overwhelming collage of dozens of women in the dress to Reddit. "This is what happens when you post a link to a $23 dress on Amazon that flatters everyone to a female meteorologist Facebook group," she wrote.
Weather women aren't allowed to wear "distracting prints," lace, anything green, short skirts, or cleavage-bearing shirts. "It's pretty hard to have a closet stocked with solid colors and jewel tones that are affordable and flattering," Myers continued.
Another meteorologist, Shelby Hays from KOCO Oklahoma, told Tech Insider, "Many stations even have consultants that come in and tell you colors you should and shouldn't wear."
Myers has been updating the collage weekly to include more and more women rocking the frock, but many sizes and hues are sold out until after Christmas.
