Dad Arrested after His Girlfriend Allegedly Sent Taunting Texts About Son’s Death

A Pennsylvania father whose girlfriend allegedly killed their son and threatened their daughter — and sent him taunting text messages as she did both — was charged in the case himself for allegedly not seeking help despite knowing his children were in danger, PEOPLE confirms.

Andre Price, Jr., 23, was charged with two counts of felony endangering the welfare of a child, according to a news release from police in Allegheny County, Pennyslvania.

Price is the father of 17-month Andre Price III, who was allegedly smothered to death by his mom, 21-year-old Christian Clark, according to a criminal complaint obtained by PEOPLE. Clark allegedly also attempted to kill the couple’s 2-year-old daughter.

Police allege that for more than two hours, Clark threatened to kill the children and sent mobile photos and videos of the children in distress to Price, but that Price “made no efforts to intervene or sent first responders,” according to the news release.

Clark allegedly sent texts to Price that said, “Im killing them” and “Ima ruin both our lives.”

Police said Clark believed Price was cheating on her and lying to her. At one point, she allegedly blamed her son’s death on Price, texting: “Andre is dead cus daddy couldn’t tell the truth.”

Police allege that one of the videos Clark sent showed their son’s lifeless body, face-down on a bed. In the clip, Clark could allegedly be heard saying, “Ah, look … Angel is still alive and sweating. Your son on the other hand is not even breathing.”

According to the complaint, a second video featured both children, with the daughter crying as Clark said, “First of all, she is clearly fine, because watch … see she is not dead.”

The criminal complaint alleges that Clark was seen in the video grabbing her daughter’s head. “Him on the other hand, he doesn’t budge,” Clark allegedly said in the clip, lifting up her son’s limp head, according to police. “So you might want to call the ambulance.”

According to the complaint, Clark later apologized, texting, “Sorry I did this. I stg I didn’t mean to.”

Soon after that last text was sent, Clark called 911, and police arrived at her McKeesport, Pennsylvania home to find her son unresponsive. Paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Clark’s daughter was treated at an area hospital but suffered only minor injuries.

The criminal complaint alleges Clark told police she had smothered the boy by holding him face-down on the air mattress for about a minute.

Clark is being held without bail in the Allegheny County jail on charges on criminal homicide and attempted homicide. A preliminary hearing in the case has been scheduled for Nov. 16.

Price has not entered a plea and his preliminary hearing has not been scheduled yet, a police spokesman tells PEOPLE.

It was unclear if Clark or Price have retained attorneys.
