Christina Aguilera is many things, but what she (very rarely) is? A brunette. But Nashville is changing things up for the star — first taking her from pop to country, then giving her a dark makeover. She teased us before about her different do, but now she’s revealing the full look!

The star took to Instagram (in a very Nashville-appropriate plaid shirt, no less) to show off her new style, saying, “Jade’s been busy studying her lines. Can’t wait for #Nashville!”

We haven’t seen Aguilera this dark since the mid”00s, and judging by the caption in her first post (“Look at all that hair!”) it appears she’s as surprised by the transformation as we are. But if anyone can pull it off (and hold her own against the show’s resident hair goddess, Connie Britton) it’s Aguilera.
Dates of her guest spots have yet to be announced, but she did share a little about her character with The Hollywood Reporter. “My character is a successful pop singer who desperately wants to move into the country world, as that is her true passion,” she said. “But she is caught between her passion and what the label wants her to do.”
