Getting engaged to John Legend on a beach in the Maldives was so romantic that Chrissy Teigen wanted to keep that same level of romance going long after the wedding ended. So naturally, she designed a line of sexy bridal swimwear.
“We are returning to the Maldives during our honeymoon,” Teigen told PEOPLE at the launch of her line for Beach Bunny during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami Beach. “I want to wear a bathing suit for my husband that makes me feel sexy. I know other women feel the same way, so I was inspired to design a line.”

Her designs will include an array of swimwear adorned in sparkling Swarovski crystals and Chantilly lace from France — perfect for prolonging that wedding day (and night!) magic. “A bridal swimsuit is a very special and sexy look designed to make your man’s heart skip a beat,” said the model, 27, who modeled her own designs for Beach Bunny in Belize.
Not to mention, turn his head. The word “bride” is printed on the butt of some pieces in the collection. “While the swimwear had to be eye-popping as well as functional for honeymoon travel, it also needed to stand apart from other styles on the beach,” she said. “So we added a little humor!”
But she’s definitely taking her own honeymoon planning seriously. The couple have firmed up plans for their beachfront fall wedding and 11-day honeymoon. “We are spending half of the time eating the great food that we love, and the other half basking in the sun on a tropical beach,” she said.
And if there’s one thing she’s more excited about than her fast-approaching wedding day, it’s for the big bikini reveal on the honeymoon. “John is a romantic, and I can’t wait to see his reaction to the swimwear!”
