Is Carrie Bradshaw getting married again? It's the question on every fan's mind after Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted filming "And Just Like That" in the same wedding dress her character wore to marry (read: get left at the altar by) Mr. Big in the 2008 "Sex and the City" movie. And yes, the questionable bird headpiece is back, too.
On Nov. 3, Parker hit the streets of Manhattan rewearing Carrie's unforgettable Vivienne Westwood ballgown and accompanying blue bird fascinator, but the reboot's costume designers added a few upgrades this time around. The most noticeable additions were a teal satin cape that draped down her back, as well as matching opera gloves with a stuffed pincushion attached to one wrist. Teal slingback pumps replaced her metallic gladiator sandals, and instead of her original tulle veil, Carrie had a netted rhinestone-embellished veil covering her face. The crystal brooch that previously lined the pointed sweetheart neckline was also left back in 2008.
The strapless dress looks just as voluminous as we recall, and Parker had to hold up the poofy, cloud-like skirt as she descended the steps of Carrie's apartment and walked the streets on set.
"And Just Like That"'s Instagram account teased the resurrection of Carrie's wedding look, sharing a photo of Parker in character with the caption: "Déjà vu?" Some fans are speculating that Carrie may marry Aidan Shaw in the dress, seeing as actor John Corbett is reprising the role of her former flame for season two of the HBO Max series. But others think her character would never dare rewear the dress she got stood up in and are instead predicting it's for some sort of flashback scene or dream sequence.
Wardrobe sneak peeks are making headlines as "And Just Like That" continues to film on the streets of Manhattan ahead of the show's 2023 return. Just last month, Parker was seen carrying JW Anderson's pigeon clutch alongside costar Kristin Davis, and Nicole Ari Parker stopped traffic while shooting in a red Valentino Couture gown and matching feathered headpiece.
