Princess Madeleine of Sweden’s weekend nuptials to New York Banker Christopher O’Neill ignited royal wedding fever all over again. And with a dress like Madeleine’s striking Valentino Haute Couture number, we understand the obsession.
The lace gown featured a 4-meter long train with major ruffle detailing along the hemline. Plus, the princess topped her look with a 6-meter long veil embroidered with Chantilly lace flowers and a tiara adorned with fresh orange blossoms. Basically, Cinderella from head-to-toe.

But how does Madeleine, 30, compare to other royal brides who have gotten hitched in the past few years?
In October 2012, Countess Stephanie de Lannoy (now Princess Stephanie of Luxembourg) wed Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg in a jaw-dropping ivory lace Elie Saab gown featuring a fitted bodice, three-quarter sleeves and a full skirt. Her train, however, comes up short compared to Madeleine’s: It was only two-meters, 50-centimeters long.
It almost doesn’t seem fair to compare these two wedding dresses to Duchess Catherine’s, but we’re going to do it anyway. The Princess wore a custom Alexander McQueen confection for her 2011 wedding to Prince William.
The white V-neck gown with a long-sleeved lace overlay, designed by McQueen creative director Sarah Burton, had a two-meter, 70-centimeter train. She also wore a Cartier halo tiara lent to her by Queen Elizabeth.
