Astrology GIFs for the Week of November 30, 2015

Sky Codes for November 30–December 6

It's already the first week of the last month of the year — and this one brings us a quarter moon. When only the moon’s left half shines in the sky, we’re drawn to reflect on whether we’re satisfied with what we’re doing and how we’re living. Too often we feel we’re at the mercy of our previous choices, feeling that now all that's left is to suck it up and wait for a miracle. But it’s never too late for change, even a small one.

Watch out for savage feelings of inadequacy, triggered by news of a colleague’s success or chronic fears about the sincerity of connection in a relationship. Drain that poison out of your system by daydreaming and musing about what you really want. By Friday or Saturday, you’ll better know your true path and how to get on it as you approach the Sagittarius new moon, coming next week.

The planetary weather report: Use these guidelines to unlock the stars, not to be locked down by them.

Just in time to foster new ideas and perspective at this last quarter moon, there’s a high-energy fire triangle between cunning Mercury, the hearty moon, and innovative Uranus on Tuesday. Keep a pen and pad or a note-taking app ready to capture the quick and inventive ideas and insights that could come from the meeting of this tribunal of planets. On Thursday, the moon will pick fights with prickly Saturn, the glory-loving Sun and glamorous Neptune, prompting you to dwell more on your faults than your fortunes. You’ll need those high-octane insights to fend off any doubts and challenging thoughts or issues that could crop up then. Self-appreciative Venus moves into passionate Scorpio on Saturday, and she can help you get out of those doldrums if you see your own judgmental thoughts as a catalyst to love yourself more fiercely rather than to beat yourself up.

Read on for your sign’s Sky Code.

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21)

Clever Mercury, the nourishing moon, and ingenious Uranus form a trio of inspiration and inventiveness for you at the top of the week. You’re bound to feel sharper and confident about having the perfect mixture of humor and wisdom to encourage others and keep your own spirits up. In fact, as Venus ventures into Scorpio on Saturday, think about visiting a colleague or loved one who’s been off your radar for a while. If no one in your life fits the bill, let inspiration direct you toward helping a stranger or charitable organization.

Capricorn (December 22 to January 20)

You’re never one to shy away from responsibility, so you know better than most that we make our own luck. However, remember that no one creates all of their luck on their own. Make a short list of people, familiar and unfamiliar, whom you need to know better in the next few months. The moon in picky Virgo on Thursday and Friday will help you discern correctly the people you need. As genial Venus steps into Scorpio to spend the next month in your groups and aspirations sector, she’ll show you pleasing ways to take things up a notch.

Aquarius (January 21 to February 18)

Your eyes might be bigger than your stomach and pocketbook. The last quarter moon will require you to monitor your spending and not indulge your fun-loving ways too much. However, it’s good that your socializing appetite is strong and lively. That’ll make it easier to catch up with friends and colleagues after Thanksgiving. It will also warm you up when you possibly have to coach a difficult colleague or friend out of tricky situation. Stay focused on how awesome and beautiful a peaceful solution will look when it eventually happens, not the outrageousness of that colleague’s bad behavior.

Pisces (February 19 to March 20)

Don’t fight the feeling that you’re not clicking much this week. Perhaps you feel out of sorts because you don’t feel connected to the value of your own expertise and knowledge. Pay attention to where your mind goes when it’s free and floating off. As astute Mercury, the security-conscious moon, and ambitious Saturn form a trio chorus of inspiration and creativity on Tuesday, you will discover your best ideas for strengthening and increasing your finances and career prospects might come when you’re not looking for them.

Aries (March 21 to April 19)

The fiery triad of the fierce moon, quick-witted Mercury, and maverick Uranus will have you feeling like your swagger is in high gear. Jump all over that pep in your step by venturing out of your usual routines. Don't go totally off the rails and bet your whole paycheck while playing poker with friends — take a modest risk with a $1 lottery ticket or propose an offbeat solution for a problem that’s been thrashing about at work. The key is to have more fun and keep your fear of loss low.

Taurus (April 20 to May 21)

Many Buddhists celebrate the Buddha as a Taurus, and the fat, laughing Buddha is a fitting symbol of whom you’ll have to be this week: satisfied, but able to laugh at the chaos that could complicate your happiness. Notice I didn’t say ruin your happiness — with Buddha by your side, surely your joy will be able to withstand a few challenges. It’s up to you if you let a random creep or fretful thought spoil your fun. Comfort is a luxury that, honestly, most of the world doesn’t have. You don’t have to wallow in guilt about it, but it’s a good reminder not to feel entitled to it anytime you want it.

Gemini  (May 21 to June 20)

A PhD in biological engineering recently told me at breakfast, without a wink of irony, that humans share 50 percent of their DNA with bananas. Unable to resist the humor, I said, “That explains why we’re half bananas.” He was not amused. The spike in the number of people who’ve peeled back enough of their soft-headed ideas and opinions on life could make you think we’re about to experience a massive devolution into one of our apparent genetic cousins. Fear not: the cosmos sometimes throws crazy your way to appreciate how much sanity you still have. Be grateful.

Cancer  (June 21 to July 21)

Venerated rapper Rakim’s iconic phrase “thinking of a master plan” best sums up how you’re working the magic of this week’s last quarter moon. You’ve done well the last few weeks to manage minor money and career crises, but you need a new job, hustle, or way of handling your workload. If you’ve been squeezing lemons by the caseload to make lemonade out of a bad situation, then it’s time to face that what you’ve been doing is only making yourself love sour shit. Occasionally there ain’t enough sugar in the world to sweeten certain people, places, or things.

Leo  (July 22 to August 21)

With mama moon starting in your sign this week and forming a freeing and fiery trio with innovative Uranus and perceptive Mercury, you’ll feel good about stepping away from a confining state of affairs and into more an inspired and supported one. However, don’t fret about worst-case scenarios when you face the tedious (and all too familiar) prospect of keeping everyone on point, including yourself. You can let a colleague or loved one know where your boundaries are without fearing that you’re boxing yourself again. Don't give in to the urge to avoid conflict by not addressing the details of what’s irking you — you'll regret it.

Virgo (August 22 to September 21)

The best and worst part of this last quarter moon is how much you might enjoy it. Virgos can easily get into a critical groove and relish picking at their own faults like a kid with a scab. However, move beyond your masochistic meditation on yourself and embrace your imperfections as seeds for growth and fun. Getting everything right can weaken your character. We all grow from actually having room to grow. If you can really hook into this moon’s deeper gifts, it’ll even be easier to share the wisdom and warmth of these lessons to others when self-affirming Venus moves into Scorpio on Saturday.

Libra (September 22 to October 21)

The last quarter effect of the moon signals that you’re wrapping up a group effort or project that has likely exceeded your expectations. It’s also possible that it’s gone way beyond the timetable you had for it originally, and you’re ready to move on. The golden trine between the life-affirming moon, pioneering Uranus, and smart Mercury on Tuesday will endow you with the right level of warmth, inspiration, and wisdom for your social and communication efforts. As considerate Venus, your sign’s ruler, wades into deep waters of Scorpio on Saturday, you can weigh out better where you’ll put your time, money, and passions next.

Scorpio (October 22 to November 21)

Saturday’s annual entry of stylish Venus into your sign is cosmic call for a makeover. Stretch yourself a little more with this Venus cycle, drawing on flourishes from unusual or foreign sources. No one wears self-denial well, Scorpio, but you especially don’t. There’s a difference between self-discipline and self-denial. Self-denial is more about playing small than scaling back for a larger goal or purpose. Your purpose for looking utterly fantastic and delicious is to give a feast for the eyes, minds, and hearts of people who want to devour life as much as you do.
