What sort of engagement ring befits one of Bachelor Nation’s more offbeat romantic duos? Certainly not any ordinary platinum and diamond sparkler.
So it stands to reason that when Bachelor in Paradise‘s Evan Bass got down on one knee during the show’s Sept. 6 finale, he proposed to Carly Waddell with a fancy light pink-colored pear-shaped diamond that sits atop a split band set with 157 round diamonds. Handcrafted by the franchise’s go-to jeweler Neil Lane, the 1.5 carat ring drew Bass in almost immediately.

“Evan described Carly and how much he loved her quirky personality and how he wanted something completely different,” says Lane, who designed all three rings for the show’s surprise proposal hat-trick. “It’s beautiful and unusual and suits her unique personality.”
Bass told Lane that the platinum ring, which features a halo of smaller diamonds surrounding the light pink stone, was “perfect for her.” It appears Bass was right.
“It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen,” Waddell tells PEOPLE. “It’s gorgeous. It’s more than I ever hoped for.” As for the happily engaged couple, Lane calls them “the perfect match,” adding that “Evan seemed so happy to have found his true love.”
