Alec Baldwin talked fatherhood on "Late Show." Specifically, he talked about his new baby girl, Carmen. He told David Letterman that she makes him feel "invisible."
“No one even sees that I’m there anymore. I thought about taking off all my clothes and sitting nude at the breakfast table," he said. "They definitely prefer their mother to you. It’s very lonely.”
The 55-year old Baldwin said that he's noticed the age gap between his daughters. His 17-year-old daughter Ireland will soon be meeting Carmen. "It’s weird, you know?” he said. "We’re going to hand her this three-week-old baby and say, ‘this is your sister.’”
Baby Carmen was introduced to the world via a photo shoot with People magazine. Baldwin said that they donated the money they made from the shoot to a charity. He also spoke to the magazine, where he said he feels like Carmen is a bit of a 'second chance' for him. With Ireland, there was a huge custody battle with his ex-wife, Kim Basinger.
Now, little Ireland is all grown up. At 6'2", the teen is jetting all around the world with her burgeoning modeling career. Could Carmen follow in her footsteps one day?
“I hope she looks like her mother," Baldwin said, referring to current wife Hilaria Thomas. "What a waste of time it would be to marry a woman like that and have the kid look like me.”
