Adele is really happy to be a Brit — especially amid this year’s messy U.S. presidential election.
The star expressed her pity for Americans during her show at Washington D.C.’s Verizon Center on Monday night, revealing that she’d watched the second presidential debate over the weekend, according to concertgoers.
“Did anybody watch the debate last night?” Adele asked, per ABC News digital journalist Ali Rogin. “Oh my f—— God… I feel sorry for you, really.”
Per another audience member, she added: “I’m embarrassed for you.”

Adele, whose homeland controversially voted for Brexit this past June, also hinted about how she’d cast her ballot if she was able to vote, teasing only, “you should know who I like and who I do not f—— like,” reported The Washington Post.

Adele isn’t the first musician to take a stand on the election. Over the weekend, Pink Floyd alum Roger Waters used his performance at Desert Trip to firmly position himself as anti-Trump.
Bruce Springsteen has also come out against the GOP nominee, telling Rolling Stone, “I like Hillary.”
