Fashion's love affair with the Muppets has been long established — after all, there is no one quite as glamorous as the wonderful Miss Piggy. While the runways have been awash in fur of all sorts, one particular set of styles has stood out for it's overly shaggy and colorful qualities. Offered in hues like peach, mint green, or bright blue, it's as if designers this season decided to raid the puppet closet at Sesame Street. That oversized red fur dress on Jourdan Dunn at Derek Lam? Secretly Elmo in disguise. That yellow belted stole at Versace? Big Bird strikes again. Mark Fast's shaggy pink cardigan could easily hide a few of the Yip Yip aliens, while Jeremy Scott offered up the ultimate in Muppet couture with Lindsey Wixson closing the show in a shaggy puce jumpsuit. Quick, name that muppet! It's hard not to look at these outfits without a smile on your face. For all of the times that fashion takes itself too seriously, click through these looks and remember that it's nice to have fun, too.
