Alicia Keys has amassed an impressive (and expensive!) shoe collection since hitting it big, but she still has affection for the kicks she loved growing up: Reebok’s Freestyle sneakers, known to the N.Y.C. teen as “54-11s” for their after-tax price of $54.11.
That’s why the star was inspired to update the silhouette for her second collaboration with Reebok, though she added a wedge to dress the look up a bit.
“I want to wear them every day, not just because they’re mine,” she told PEOPLE at a launch event for the sneakers, “[but] because they look great and because they’re comfortable.”

Comfort is key for the on-the-go mom, who says she’s noticed her style change over the years. “Evolving and becoming a woman has really changed my style,” she said. “Style should be comfortable. You should feel great [when you] put it on – although some shoes I wear are not very comfortable. But my sneakers are!”
Also on the star’s style must list: flowy, silky pants from designers like Chloé and Stella McCartney, bright colors and pieces with “an androgynous feel.” That includes her “boy-girly” Reebok sneakers, which will be available on Reebok.com starting April 1.
