Here's something we didn't see coming today: Kate Middleton showing up to the Cheltenham races... wearing a particularly short hemline.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made an unannounced appearance at Cheltenham Gold Cup Day, the final day of the annual horse racing event. It's the sort of society gathering that Kate's frequented before (most famously in that big fur hat in 2006) but we had no idea she'd venture out with her growing belly to the races this year.
Pippa Middleton hit the event on Thursday in a fur hat and yellow Katherine Hooker coat (and those chic sunglasses), taking in the races from a balcony with friends.
But Kate picked a less sunny day to enjoy the event, entering with Prince William beneath a giant umbrella. She still looked radiant, of course, in a pinkish coat reportedly dating back to 2009, her fave Aquatalia Rhumba boots and the same jaunty brown hat she donned at a wedding in the Swiss Alps just weeks ago.
But really, it's the short hemline catching our eye. With no dress visibly peeking out from under it, Kate's look today is all leg (and patterned tights!). Way to play the part of yummy mummy, Catherine.
