J Lo's Extreme Flared Jeans Are a Bold Take on '70s Style

A style chameleon like no other, Jennifer Lopez has stepped out in yet another '70s-inspired look that's going right to the top of our fall-fashion wish list. You might recall that she's been referencing the groovy decade in many of her most recent outfits, including vibrantly patterned flared leggings on her way to the gym and super-chic wide-leg white pants with platform heels when she's on set with husband Ben Affleck.

Plus, she's been embracing a more tailored wardrobe lately, ditching her signature workout sets for elegant lace dresses, playful pussy-bow shirting, and - now - tailored denim flares. On a weekend outing in New York, Lopez headed to a 50th birthday celebration for Affleck with their children, and she chose high-waisted Et Ochs jeans with a crisp white button-down for the occasion. Accessory wise, she toted her beloved Gucci logo bag. Though her shoes were not quite visible from a distance, they seemed to offer just enough height to accommodate the length of the flared pants.

For those keeping count, this outfit marks the third time Lopez has been spotted in these same jeans. In early July, she rocked a pair in white, styled with a black bodysuit, while visiting Affleck on set. And as far back as January, J Lo wore the same dark-wash pair she's styled again, with the ruched purple top that was shown in the full runway look when the Et Ochs collection debuted.

As the summer-to-fall wardrobe transition commences, consider taking a cue from Lopez. With casual essentials like denim and white shirts, you'll have an easy yet elegant ensemble that works morning, noon, and night.
